Verse 12

We saw Advent off and he went back to the orphanage. And though I wanted to say hi to both Amp Atom and my cousin Sweetie Drop while we were visiting Ponyville, Shining Armor prohibited it though, because like him, I needed to stay focused on training. The next week passed and it goes without saying, I had a lot more training put in until I was blue in the face again. When I say “Blue” I mean “Bluer than my mane, blue!”

In that time, I was still wondering why my spear just spontaneously broke to pieces like that after I beat Ka’ah. I got a couple scolding moments from that, but we just replaced the staff body and put the head on it. Chief even said it himself that a spear is nothing but a tool. Tools can be replaced. But the soldiers of Princess Celestia cannot be. So I guess that’s his way of saying “Be careful in the future.” At least I’m assured that he cares enough for my safety. Almost makes me forget his glaring eyes… Yeesh… he’s worse than my brother!

In any case, at the end of the week, the next part of the mission exam was set to begin. The second one took place up in the sky! And let me tell you, it was a doozy! In a huge collection of storm clouds is the flag. In order for all of us to claim it, we have to pull a sky chariot for Shining Armor. His job is to steer and direct orders while Heavyweight and Thunderclap pull it together. My job is to give a fast heads-up whenever a lightning bolt is coming and what direction it’s coming from. Good thing I’m in me element here!

Twilight: Do you really have to go right now, Shiny? You said you would spend some time with me today…

Shining Armor: Aw, don’t you worry, Twily. I’ll still have time when we get back. I told you before that I always keep my promises! But it’s because of that that I have to do this.

Twilight: Because you promised him?

Shining Armor: I promised him that I would help him with becoming a Royal Guard. The colt wants to follow my hoof-steps, so I have to keep my promises to him.

Twilight: But… I thought family came first…

Shining Armor: They do! Don’t think I’ve forgotten that. But I can’t postpone this. He needs me to be the leader since it’s a rule that there needs to be a team captain of 4. And that’s my job. So I have to do this. You and I will get another chance real soon. But this is the only one he’s got.

Shining Armor: You got it, Twily. And when we get back, I’ll take you out to get some apple pie alamode!

Twilight: *Happy gasp* You mean it?! Promise?!

Shining Armor: I promise!

Twilight: YAY! *Looks at Flash* You better take care of my brother, Cheeseball!

Flash: *Snaps in his head* GRCK! CHEESEBALL?!

Shining Armor: PFFTAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAA!!!! Ch-Cheeseball?! HAHAHAHAH!!! I gotta remember that one!

Flash: *Eye twitching while he grins at Twilight with a throbbing vein and the other two laughing behind him* Rrrrrrgh…. (You know, filly… You’re starting to get on my nerves…) *Through his toothy grin* Suuuuure…. You can count on meeeee…..

Shining Armor: *AHEM* Alright. So we know our positions. We take off from here! Any questions before we depart?

Flash: Just one, sir! You said you weren’t too good at steering a flying chariot before. How much better have you gotten since the last time?

Shining Armor: That shouldn’t matter to you. You’re not pulling. You’re scouting! These two are pulling. With your speed, all you need to do is alert us! So to answer your question: “We’ll find out, now won’t we?” Will there be any other questions? No? Good! Then let’s move!

All 3: YES, SIR! *They all take off with Shining Armor in a chariot being pulled by Thunderclap and Heavyweight while Flash flies above them*

Twilight: *Salutes and waves good-bye to them* COME BACK SOON, BBBFF!!! BYE, BIG GUYS!!! GOOD LUCK, CHEESEBALL!!!

Flash: *Heard that and is hearing the others laughing* (RRRRRRGH!!! You are so NOT CUTE!!!)
